OPTION ON HYGRO AND MARES Gus F. Schreiner May Dispose of Stallion to T. P. Morgan Latter May Increase Acreage. KERRVILLE, Texas, Dec. 12. Gus F. Schreiner, owner of Southford Ranch, in Kerr County, today said he had given to T. P. Morgan, an option on the stallion Hygro and fourteen mares, nine with weanlings and twelve in foal, the option to expire June 1. He would not reveal the financial consideration involved in the event the option is exercised by Morgan, who is one of Texas leading turf patrons. Mr. Schreiner, who has been engaged in the breeding" of thoroughbred horses since 1901, said be intended to retire from the industry on account of his age. The stock on which Mr. Morgan has an option, is practically all that is owned by the Kerrville breeder. During the last season the get of Hygro, which included the speedy juvenile Hy Camp, was acquired by Morgan about two months ago and was sold to C. S. Howard. He is. regarded as an excellent three-year-old prospect. . Negotiations between Morgan and Schreiner advanced to the option stage while Morgan, his brother, W. F. Morgan and trainers E. L. Snyder and Bert Williams, were on a hunting trip near Kerrville the latter part of last week. It has been rumored that Morgan intends to acquire a larger farm for his racing and breeding stock than he now possesses.
