1 FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES J ; Joe Hardwick, docker and former owner, arrived Saturday from Kentucky. He will spend a short time here with Maj. Joe Bur-man, head of the Kentucky state police, and J. Fred Miles, well known turf patron. Major Burman and Miles returned to Kentucky, Monday, while Hardwick plans to leave Tuesday for Santa Anita. Later Miles will go to California for a major part of the Santa Anita meeting. Hyman Pearlstone and Mrs. Pearlstone left for their home in Dallas. They had been in New Orleans since the opening of the racing season. Richard B. George, owner of Glad Acres Farm, one of the most pretentious breeding establishments in the country, is expected to spend a few days in New Orleans before the holidays. J. G. Brown, trainer of the main division of the stable owned by Mrs. Vera Wyse, Houston patron, leaves for Santa Anita Sunday morning, where he will assume charge of the thoroughbreds that he shipped to that point a week ago. The division left at the Fair Grounds will be in charge of William Cox. Several stitches were required to close the hand wound trainer Al Gaal suffered when his hand accidentally went through a heavy glass window during a playful wrestling match. Ray S. Byrum, Indiana sportsman, returned to Louisville, where he has his horses resting up for the winter. He spent several days in the Crescent City.
