1 WHEELING DOWNS NOTES 3 Stalls have been designated for Pat Poluch and Fay Headlee. The latter will van here from Waynesburg Sunday morning to start what is expected to be a busy week at the island course. The first full-fledged member of the riding brigade to arrive is L. Pikor, who was seen in the saddle at Hot Springs, Ark., during the winter. Pikor is getting in plenty of morning gallops." "Boots" Dickerson, who will dispatch the Downs fields, is at Fairmount Park, Collins-ville, 111., where he will serve as starter during the first part of the meeting. Washoe Valley, the fastest racer ever seen here and winner of his only start last fall, was Killed in Havana recently. Track superintendent Bee Pappert completed work on a drainage ditch along the inside of the course and is now busy turning over the racing strip.
