1 FAIRMOUNT PARK NOTES I 3 — $ Racing secretary Richard A. Leigh, Sr., received notice from C. Bruce Head, general manager of Lincoln Fields, that Wednesday, May 10, is the closing day for Lincoln Fields stakes. George H. Foster, secretary of the Illinois Racing Commission, who has been here since • opening day, May 6, leaves Wednesday for the Illinois capital at Springfield. Eddie Griffin, custodian of the jockey quarters, announced that with the addition of apprentice F. Scott to the already large riding colony here Griffin has given out fifty jockey badges. Jockey Alcee Richard, a recent arrival from Chicago, accepted his first mount of ii the current meeting when he was astride Tramway in the fifth race Wednesday. Starter Roy "Boots" Dickersons fast dispatching of fields is meeting- with enthusiasm from officials, horsemen and the general public. Racing secretary Richard A. Leigh, Sr., announced Wednesday that no further applications for stall space within the grounds would be granted. The plant is taxed to capacity, some 700 horses being quartered on the grounds.
