Won driving; second and third the same. »• SUNABELL, permitted to settle into his best stride and not hurried in the early running, worked his s vay to the leaders steadily and was along inside the last thirty, yards to wear down WHISKBRIAR. The latter, never far from the pace, moved up to gain a slight lead after going a half mile, fought it out gamely, -tut was not quite good enough. STAR PUPIL, unable to keep pace in the run through the back stretch, •was sent up fast on the outside, but was unable to close any ground through the stretch after losing ground. COUNTRY JIM, unable to keep up early, closed with good energy in the last three-sixteenths. NIGHT PRINCESS, prominent from the outset, faltered through the stretch run. AH-MI, away fast, dropped back steadily and, but for a brief flash of speed nearing the far turn, was never a factor. CONA "•DARA quit. COUNT RAE, slow to begin and* far back for the opening three-eighths, was taken to the outside while bettering his position and, closing with a rush, was going away at the end. PRIMER, prominent from the start, gained a slight lead when reaching the stretch and fought it out gamely to the end. ERECH, knocked back in the jam that occurred during the first eighth, was rushed up fast on the outside and, tiring from his early efforts, was unable to close any ground during the final eighth. SHANTIME closed ground in the stretch run. GAY WORLD, away fast, was knocked back badly during the opening eighth. He recovered gamely, moved up stoutly, showed in front briefly entering the stretch, but tired from his early efforts through the closing test. CAL RAINEY showed a brief flash of speed on the outside after leaving the back stretch. HASTINOLA quit. PRINCE DANNY-had brief early speed. FUMBLE, under hard urging to hold to a forward position early, responded gamely to punishment, wore down SPRING MOON after straightening out in the stretch and increased his advantage slowly through the last sixteenth. SPRING MOON had speed from the outset, raced SCOTCH THISTLE into submission and, despite holding on willingly, was unable to cope with the closing bid of the winner. EVA R., slow to begin, moved up steadily, began dropping back nearing the turn from the back stretch, -was sent to the outside and, closing with a rush through the stretch, was up in the concluding stride to outlast MARCABALA. The latter, well placed, held on willingly in the drive, although unable to endanger the leaders. ALPEN-GLOW was gaining steadily on the outside during the stretch run. SCOTCH THISTLE quit badly. ODDSBODKIN moved up gradually on the outside after swinging from the back stretch and, closing stoutly on the outside of the leaders through the stretch, was along the last seventy yards to wear down LITTLE BOLO. The latter, hustled to the front nearing the stretch, met determined opposition from BRIGHT VIEW and, while holding the latter safe through the closing eighth, was unable to cope with the challenge of the winner. BRIGHT VIEW had speed from the outset, made a determined bid to go along with the leader and tired slightly during the last few strides. STONE RANCH moved up gamely at the stretch turn, but was unable to close any ground In the drive. NUTTY was unable to reach the leaders. PROUD LASS, away slowly, closed some ground. PANORASCOPE was under steadying restraint while following the pace, fought it out stubbornly, but was not good enough. WLLIAM PALMER outran his field to the first turn, opened up a good lead and, rated along under slight reserve, was unable to go along with the leaders in the last quarter mile. WOODLANDER, in nearest chase of the pacemaker, was unable to maintain his position in the drive. GENIE PALATINE raced evenly. RHODIUM was outrun. WEARY FLOWER was far back throughout. BOSTON PAL, quickest to begin, was under stout restraint while showing slightly in front during the first half mile, increased his advantage while still under restraint and drew out as if outclassing his opposition. LOVICK, unable to keep pace early, closed determinedly during the stretch run. HARPEN BELLE, well placed all the way, held on well in the closing drive. SUMMER HAIL followed along within striking distance of the pace, but gave way steadily during the last three-sixteenths. OZARK made a mild bid midway of the far turn, then dropped back. The latter, restrained until the closing three-eighths, closed stoutly and was overtaking the winner steadily at the windup. ASSIST followed along within striking distance of the pace and, slightly restrained, was unable to close any ground when placed under punishment. GREAT BLAZE was unable to reach the leaders.
