FAY D., lucky to keep up when, racing on the inside on the first turn,_ continued to save ground thereafter, failed to get through on the second turn, but secured room on the inside in the stretch and, taking command under pressure, was vigorously ridden out. BLANCO SWEEP was rated along under light restraint for three-quarters, raced in determined fashion under energetic riding thereafter arfd outstayed CATALONIA. The latter, reserved off the pace, was slow to rally to punishment, but responded in the final eighth and finished resolutely. SERENATA MAID had speed from the start, was under stout, urging after reaching the last quarter and tired in the closing strides. CORN FIELD quit in the drive. COPPER ROD was on the inside after the first quarter, lacked speed and was never a threat. PARKWOOD CHIEF had no mishaps. HIGH PLACE sprinted into a commanding lead during the opening quarter, was placed under strong handling when tiring, bore out in the stretch and lasted to outfinish GIN FRITTERS. The latter, hustled along from the start, was forced wide by the winner when offering a determined bid in the drive and hung in the final stride. BARGAIN HUNTER, slow to get going, saved ground throughout and hold on well. QUICK QUICK, fractious and placed on the outside for the start, worked her way forward on the outside and closed with a rush. CHARMETTE tired after improving her position. KITTY CARROLL had early speed. GEM CITY GIRL tossed her rider before the start and showed little. HASTY RUTH unseated her rider before the start and began very slowly. LEVEN MISS unseated her rider and ran off a quarter before the start and began slowest of all from the outside of the stalls. CENTUPLE, slow to begin and permitted to come over sharply when reaching the lead, drew clear entering the stretch and, racing on the inside thereafter, finished under good pressure. ALHALON, performing in green fashion and hustled along on the inside, bore out badly after reaching the stretch, then came fast when straight, but failed to menace the winner. TRUE STAR, in close quarters early, moved up when clear and finished well. ROYAL MAN, shuffled back on the turn, was rushed forward when clear and showed an even effort thereafter. ENDY, forced wide while forcinc the early pace, tired after reaching the final eighth. BONIVANT had no mishaps. NIGHTLAND was unable to keep up. AL AU FEU, away slowest and well back for five-eighths, improved his position on the outside, bumped ALLANWOOD after reaching the drive and, coming fast when clear, finished fastest. KNEE DEEP, outrun early and in close quarters on the upper turn, was steered to the inside after reaching the stretch and tired near the end. DOUBLE R., never a great distance back and in hand to the far turn, was vigorously handled thereafter and finished well. QUICKER had good speed from the beginning, took command when roused on the second turn and held on well to the final eighth, then tired. FIRE ADVANCE, began to improve his position after five-eighths, but could not menace the leaders. LIFE GUARD was through after five-eighths. SAM ALEXANDER tired. RON bore out on the second turn.
