THIRD COVEY lost ground while improving his position and closed with a belated rush. PASS OUT was away fast, showed good speed, came out slightly approaching the stretch and tired near the end. VICTORY MORN raced greenly and showed speed in spots. QUESTRE, fractious at the post, lacked early speed. GRAND LAMA needs education. RISSA, was hard ridden to go along with the pacemaker, gained a short lead midway of the stretch, but could not withstand the winner. BILLY BEE was nursed after getting to the front, was kept in the soft footing close to the inside , rail and tired in the stretch drive. MURPH kept within striking distance of the leaders, was bothered on the turn by PROPH, then found racing room in the stretch run to finish with a rush. The latter, overconfidently handled, was taken back off the pace at the start, trailed for the first mile, entered contention slowly, then finished full of run in the last half mile when placed to severe punishment. TATTERDEMALION bettered his position swiftly after settling in stride, entered contention on the final turn, then came very wide in the last three-sixteenths. JACOLA was kept forwardly placed, was given a mild breathing spell nearing the final turn, then finished willingly while saving ground in the closing drive.
