The first issue of the Lincoln Fields condition book has been placed in the hands ot the printer and will be ready for general distribution early next week, it was announced today at the local offices of the track in the Congress Hotel. Besides the stakes, nominations for which closed today, the program contains conditions for a liberal assortment of overnight races designed to keep the better horses busy during the twenty-seven day season, which opens Thursday, May 25. Its publication is being awaited eagerly by the many ownprs and trainers whose stables will take part in the Lincoln Fields meeting. Lincoln Fields was opened for horses May 1 and already a few stables have moved in, some from winter quarters and the remainder from other tracks. The general influx, however, will not come for another week, for many of the stables intended for campaigning at the Crete course now are taking part in the meeting at Churchill Downs. There are approximately 1,500 horses at the Louisville track, and a majority of them are to be shipped here after the close there May 20. Track officials say they have the usual number of requests for stable room, and, of course, everyone will be accommodated, since those" who cannot be taken care of at Lincoln Fields will find stall and training facilities at nearby Washington Park. The plant itself is being put in order for the meeting, and it will present its usual picturesque sight to spectators on opening day. Flowers and shrubs already have been put out, and a continuation of good weather should have them at their loveliest for the opening of Chicagos racing season.
