A total of 985 yearlings were sold in 1938 and they brought a total of ,540,535 for an average of ,563.90 per head. Twelve Bull Dog yearlings sold for 5,200, an average of ,933. The highest price paid for a yearling in 1938 was the 2,000 which Mrs. Isabel Dodge Sloane laid on the line to acquire the bay son of Ksar — Duration. These and all the yearlings sold in 1938 will be found on page 366 of the 1939 Edition of THE AMERICAN RACING MANUAL
