HANKS TAKES MIDGET FEATURE The Midget Automobile Racing Championship meet began at Soldier Field Sunday and a crowd of 25,000 was on hand to witness the program which will be held through the week. Sam Hanke, of Alhambra, Calif., captured the class "A" feature over the fifty laps distance. Mel Hansen was second and Ronnie Householder third. Paul Russo, of New York, the favorite and 1938 A. A. A. midget racing champion, finished fifth.
