ROLLSBUZZY outran his field to the first turn, stalled off early contention from SUNNY ROSE, drew clear at the final turn, then held sway in the late stages. GUYENCOURT, having little early speed, failed to threaten and was under severe pressure lo overhaul the tiling SlNNY HOSE. SHIPMADILLY broke in motion to move to the front readily, met a stout bid from SCORCH rounding the turn, responded to a drive and came out steadily in the stretch run. NEDTICA, unable to keep up early, raced to the inside when the leaders swung wide into the stretch and finished with good energy under punishmnt. SCORCH, away flatfooted, was rushed off her feet to engage the winner, lost a lot of ground entering the stretch and hung in the last eighth. ANNE ODETTE raced well placed, but could not engage the leaders. FLYING GLEE tired after a half mile. WHITE SAMITE trailed after breaking very slowly. Scratched— 76037 Nutty, 112; Cherrys Child, 114. HE GOES, reserved off the pace for the first mile, gained stoutly when shaken up. reached the pacemaker nearing the final fence, then, closing fast on the flat, wore down MAD POLICY approaching the finish. MAD POLICY raced into an easy lead, fenced stoutly all the way, saved ground, but tired suddenly in the last five-sixteenths when his rider became overconfident and permitted him to loaf. DESERTER struck several of his fences in the first mile, then tired badly when shaken up. LORO was far out of contention for the entire trip. CAMPFIRE EMBERS fell at the tenth fence, then was remounted to finish. BROADSIDE KING was racing strongly when he fell at the same fence. Scratched— Sussex, 139; 76210 Sisyphus, 140. JAY JAY, suited in the footing, raced into the lead in the first sixteenth, showed good speed from the start, shook off PERNIE rounding the turn and finished with much in reserve after drawing clear midway of the stretch. BULL WHIP was forced to race on the inside for the first half mile, came out off the rail at the stretch turn, but was no match for the winner. HONEY CLOUD was unable to keep up with the leaders earlv, but finished gamely. PERNIE raced stoutly for the first half mile, then tired. AETHELWOLD was never a factor. DARK SUN, favoring the footing, was close up from the start, responded stoutly to gain a short lead midway of the stretch, then held on stubbornly to withstand LADY ROMA. The latter, steadied for the first three-quarters, secured racing room on the inside when moving to the leaders and foucht it out determinedly when engaged with the winner. COUNT TETRARCH gained a short lead on the first turn, raced RED GLARE into submission, but tired in the last quarter mile. BALAP1N fell back going to the first turn and was unable to enter contention when shaken up. BABY TALK did not fancy the footing and was held safe. RED GLARE quit bady. SEVENTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. PORTLNLS, suited in the footing and going in his best form, worked his way to the leaders on the final turn, swung to the outside when moving to the front and rallied to draw out slowly at the end. INTERPRETER wore down GRAND DUKE midway of the final turn and held on willingly to the finish. GRAND DUKE was rated in front, but could not withstand the first two. CANGRIERRON was prominent throughout and had no excuses. HIGH TENSION raced in the deepest footing on the inside for the entire trip. RED TRAP was bacllv outrun and could not untrack himseif.
