STANTON, Del., June 19.— On a racing strip left in sloppy condition from an all- day rain, Jay Jay, six-year-old son of Wise Counsellor, racing for Howard Bruce, Balti- more banker, achieved his first success after a long absence from the winning circle when he splashed to a front-running and popular j triumph in the Walnut Green, an allowance ! race fifth on the card that featured a wet 1 day of sport at Delaware Park today. Meet- ! ing contention from four other seasoned ■printers, Jay Jay, under apprentice W. Duf-ford, took the lead a few jumps from the starting point and, unleashing a swift turn ; j of speed in the slushy underfooting, enjoyed i his command throughout to win by three j I lengths as he led Brandywine Stables Bull Whip to the close of the three-quarters in the ! good time of 1:11%. Third in the principal I I event went to Honey Cloud in the Mrs. A. J. ; j Abel colors and he was just a nose better than Mrs. C. MacLeods Pernie, which easily took the measure of W. L.
