Johnny Adams Wife Dies BARSTOW, Calif., May 20. Mrs. Mabel Adams, wife of the well known jockey, Johnny Adams, died here yesterday of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Ludlow on Sunday. Adams, who was leading: rider at the recent Churchill Downs meeting, and who was slated to ride at Lincoln Fields on its opening: day, Monday, canceled his mounts and boarded a plane for the west on being informed of the accident.
