DISPURR, crowded back going to the first turn, weaved his way into a forward position in the back stretch, went around the pacemaker when taking command, but had to be strongly urged to the end. BABY BOY had good speed to set the pace, but was unable to stall off the winner. CAMPMEETING, prominently placed under strong handling, gained ground in the late stages. MOST XLERT raced well, but was not dangerous. BUSY TIME was easily best of the others. TIN CAN had early speed, then tired. EXPECTED BELLE, showing good, ability in the footing to take command early, was steadied nicely while meeting strong opposition from GRADATIM, then rallied to punishment in the stretch drive. GRADATIM, forcing a steady pace made repeated efforts and held on stubbornly to the close. SILVER BEAM improved her position to enter a forward position leaving the back stretch, but could not threaten the leaders in the closing test. UNITED FORCE appeared to be laboring in the footing. FAIR HERO, assuming a short lead early, met stout contention from HIBLAZE in the first five-eighths, responded readily to a drive and had enough in reserve to withstand VANTRYST. The latter, improving his position when In stride, stole through on the inside of HIBLAZE on the last turn, then came to the outside for the stretch drive. HIBLAZE tired in the last three-sixteenths. LITTLE MOWLEE raced well, but could not get to the leaders.-HIGH ROSE lost ground on the first turn and could not menace. BROKERS BUD, slow to break, trailed most of the way. SAINT PYREWICK began tiring after a half mile. ANYA did not fancy the footing. JACOTTE, going close to the leaders from the beginning, challenged strongly on the stretch turn and fought it out stoutly in the drive. BOB JUNIOR, lacking speed early, worked his way to the leaders steadily, then came between horses to finish stoutly. LADY MOWLEE, beginning verv slowlv, made up ground gradually. GRAND GAY raced TOP TRANSIT into submission and moved clear, but ran out badly on the stretch turn, losing considerable ground. FITZEDWARD bettered his position gamely, but could not reach the leaders. ROYAL BUSINESS fell out of contention, then could not threaten. TOP TRANSIT had speed for five-eighths, then tired. GIGGLE LEE, allowed to drop out of contention, rallied to intermittent punishment in the last half mile and, finishing on the inside of the winner, gained fast at the close. SCHLEY AL, displaced after five-eighths, continued with good- courage for the final test. PETEE LAD began tiring after three-quarters. SISTAUR tired early. OVERPLAY was badly outrun. DICTY STEP was extremely sore and would not extend himself.
