Espino Gold Earns Third Purse of Beulah Meeting Mrs. Frank Nugents Racer Takes Younger Purse in Easy Fashion COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 20. Espino Gold carried Mrs. Frank Nugents colors to his third consecutive victory at the present Beulah Park meeting when he easily accounted for the Younger Purse, sixth and featured event of the mid-week card, this afternoon. Saves Nine and Gallee finished in this order behind the winner, with Yar just outside the money. Gallee and Saves Nine raced closely lapped, contesting the lead at the turn for home, where Espino Gold moved up on the outside. When a furlong out, the Nugent representative took command and increased his advantage during the closing stages. Saves Nine was eventually a handy second, as Gallee gave up in the last sixteenth. Following the running of this race, Joe Younger presented his trophy to Mrs. Nugent, owner of the winner, which ruled a top-heavy favorite, consequently his victory was popular. The races were contested over a muddy track and the attendance suffered somewhat, owing to the uninviting conditions. Mrs. Paul Morris Hanid displayed too much speed at all stages for the sprinters engaged in the fifth race and won with much to spare after being installed an odds-on favorite.
