Won driving; second and third the same, MISS BAKER, shuffled back slightly soon after the start, was taken out after reaching the turn, responded to light pressure after five-eighths and was drawing out at the end. MILLMORE took command gradually, increased his advantage when approaching the stretch and was strongly urged after three-quarters, but tired in the last sixteenth. HONEY ROLL, in close quarters on the inside, moved up when clear and held on well in the drive. COMEX began slowly and was unable to threaten. COURTEOUS, away slowly and raced wide, started up fast before reaching the turn, got to the front in the stretch, then drew out under mild pressure. SONNY CASEY, jostled about early, was taken to the outside after a quarter, moved up steadily thereafter and was holding on well at the end. DONNAGINA, badly outrun to .the stretch, came with good speed through the last three-sixteenths. BEST QUALITY also closed boldly. SCARLET INSCO had speed, was under pressure after a half mile and tired in the final eighth. HIGHSCOPE began well, but was unable to keep up. REWARDED, sent along briskly for about three-sixteenths, took command while racing in hand, swerved to the inside after drawing clear in the stretch and was not strongly persevered with in the final sixteenth. BOLO SIS, well up from the start, had to be eased for a short time in the stretch and closed well when placed to good urging. ROSE BANE came out in the stretch and, closing fastest, showed a good effort. DARK ADVICE also finished well. NANNY lost much ground. MONKS MEMO, away fast and brought over from the outside after racing clear, increased her advantage when entering the stretch, then drifted out badly when approaching the final eighth and was under good pressure thereafter. EPISTLE raced with good speed from the start, was strongly urged after a half mile and held on well. CHICWIN showed a fair effort. HAPPENED raced prominently from the start, but gave way through the last three-sixteenths. SNOW APPLE dwelt slightly at the start and was unable to improve his position to the stretch, where he passed several tired rivals. Scratched 23578 Prefer Transit, 118. BONZAR, steadied along for a half, responded willingly and with much energy when called upon, was directed between ANNIE ALONE and YESTERYEAR in the final eighth and, getting up, was ready to draw out. ANNIE ALONE took command easily, drew away approaching the stretch and held on well under a light drive, but was not good enough. YESTERYEAR raced well placed from the start, made her bid gradually and held on stubbornly to the end. QUIZZLE raced in even fashion. WEISENHEIMER closed well on the outside. ROSE-RED also finished fast. GRAND CENTRAL, badly outrun early, closed boldly. WILD OATS, on the inside throughout, began well, but was unable to keep up. WINAMAC had early speed. HE MAN, kept under steady restraint for three-quarters, came to the outside for the stretch run and closed well. GALLANT PLAY was under a snug hold to the final quarter, but gave way badly under pressure. MORDECAI also quit badly in the last quarter. BURNING STICK, never a great distance back and under stout restraint for about five-eighths, was sent up fast when obtaining room on the inside rounding the final turn, took command in the stretch and won easily. TURNTABLE, inclined to bear out and well back to the final quarter, closed well thereafter. EVIL SPIRIT, a strong factor from the start and nicely rated, raced wide on the final turn, then held on well under pressure thereafter. EARLIANA took command easily, bore out on the second turn and tired in the stretch run. WILLIAM PALMER was in a contending position from the start, raced iri hand to the stretch turn, but faltered under mild pressure. LITTLE BANNER was outrun. Overweight Earliana, 3 pounds. KITCHE MANITOU was a factor from the start, responded when called uptjn after straightening up in the stretch and hung on gamely to the close. SILK YARK ran into an easy lead on the first turn, increased her advantage when approaching the stretch and swerved out when tiring in the final run. GALLANT DREAM raced well from a sluggish start.
