i Awards to Grooms at Pimlico Under Jurisdiction of Track BALTIMORE, Md., April 13.— The problem created by demands on the part of grooms, for more money for leading horses to the paddock, having been satisfactorily settled by granting them an award of 5 for every winning horse and for leading a losing horse to the saddling enclosure, everything was peace and quiet once more at Pimlico, where is being staged a combined meeting of Marylands four major tracks. What at first threatened to become an unpleasant situation was solved when the Maryland Racing Commission withdrew the commission rule applying to groom awards and placed it in the jurisdiction of the tracks. Heretofore the commission was the sole agency empowered to deal with groom awards and the rule to that effect allowed a fee of 0 when the purse was ,000 or more, and if less.
