STEPHEN JAY moved up gamely. 1 nt drifted out when set down for the drive, took the lead and increased his advantage thereafter. MAD MACAW, a forward factor from the start, went to the front between calls near the stretch and continued tamely, but could not hold the winner. DEFENSE STAMP, much used engaging MAD MACAW to the lat quarter, failed to stay in the drive. SOlTH DRIVE could not improve his positio minder eood handling. PRECIOUS YEARS began slowly. PACIFICATION, much used engaging JACK RUBENS to the half, was bothered slightly during the stretch inn when BROTHER DEAR swerved, but was not eood enough for the latter. KING TORCH could not reach the leaders when set down for the drive. MEADOW DEW. on the inside, tired during the stretch run. JACK RUBENS made the pace to the final quarter mile, then eave way. The latter, on the outside, took command after leaving the backstretch. held on well thereatter, but was not eood enough for the winner. MINTNICKERS, on the inside to the stretch, could not improve position when set down for the drive. BLUE COLORS had early speed. SEDUCTIVE showed speed. BARNACLE was never dangerous.
