Apprenticeship Near End DELAWARE PARK, Stanton. Del., June 4. — Apprentice Don Padgett, clever youngster under contract to R. Bruce Livies Bob-anet Stable, will lose the five-pound weight allowance with the conclusion of this weeks racing. He rode his initial winner at Charles Town, W. Va., on June 9, 1945. While Padgett will not find the easy pickings he has enjoyed with the "bug" the Watterboro, S. C, lad leaves the "learners" ranks with an enviable record. Idle for nearly six months of the year due to injuries and various other reasons, Padgett has managed to win in the neighborhood of 115 races, leading his fellow riders at all of Marylands four spring meetings.
