IRENIC was unhurried while racing between horses and with the pace rounding the turn, drew clear when roused and won with speed to spare. KANKEEKEE showed good speed from his inside position and held on gamely under strong handling. ZO-BO was a forward factor throughout and faltered only slightly SISSIE G. made a mild rally leavig nthe turn, then hung. DAR KPASS showed nothing. SECOND RACE 3-4 MILE out of chute. GALLANT WITCH improved her position gradually, disposed of the leaders through the stretch and was drawing clear at the finish. HY-KERRY, steadied when unable to outrun FAN FAN early, displaced that one and assumed a clear lead when asked, but could not last. LAGALLA worked her way into contention gradually in a good effort SEA PILOT raced with the pace throughout, but was not good enough. LAS VEGAS closed willingly. JAMES ACRE weakened. STANLEY was well rated after being hustled into the lead, held on gamely and lasted over the fast-closing DIXIE SWEEP . The latter came from far back and well well ridden while improving his position between horses. TRUE DREAM moved through on the inside to loom dangerously on the turn, then weakened. BUZZ BOMB was always forwardly placed, but failed to respond. INSIDER had early speed and faltered. GAUNTLET showed nothing. RANGER MOSBY was well placed early, but drifted out on the turn SPAINS ARMADA had no mishap. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE out of chute. Ideal Gift, June 27, 1944— 1:10%— 7— 109. HAWKW00D ARESS was sent into a commanding lead early, weakened in the final furlong, but lasted under good handling. SKEAN, slower to settle in stride, circled the field and was wearing down the winner in the final strides. COMIC ANN remained with the pacemakers early, but failed to rally CATEYES was sent into contention soon after the beginning, but faltered under pressure. MAGIC STEP, away tardily and sluggish early, moved through on the inside to loom dangerously in the early stretch, then flattened out. CORDIAL dropped out of contention after showing very brief speed. Overweight— Comic Ann, 2J pounds; Magic Step, 1; My Esther, 2; Bradlays Gift, 3J. Skean claimed by E. Carver. SCHOOL TIE, sluggish through the early stages, was perfectly handled while moving into contention, drove through on the inside of the leader through the stretch and was up in the final yards. LOVEMENOW saved ground on the first turn to assume command and was well rated, but was unable to resist the winner. RINGSTOWN moved through on the inside to reach contention in the backstretch, retained a prominent position to the stretch and weakened ROCKET BOMB rallied from well off the pace. LANDLORD pressed the pace while under steadying restraint, but flattened out badly when placed to pressure. NEDDIECAN weakened after being a forward factor. SIXTH RACE 3-4 MILE out of chute. TAGEL. always a forward factor, could make up no ground, but closed willingly. ROUGH FEATHERS saved ground while a forward factor and weakened. BOY KNIGHT made up very little ground.
