Q, c p n a 0 of and a g J " * ° " a c f f t ■ I 1 J J * | J ] J j J * . ; ; Hypnotic-Bonnie Beryl Duo t And Red Shoes to Command Most Attention in Feature DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June — Ten three-year-old fillies, including the one-two-three finishers in the recent Coaching Club American Oaks at Belmont Park, have ben named overnight for tomorrows eighth running of the one mile and an eighth Delaware Oaks. Chief event of the meeting for members the three-year-old filly division, the Oaks had been endowed with a 2,500 added purse. In addition to the monetary award, Mrs. Marion duPont Scott, noted turf enthusiast, has presented the host organization with a cup which will be presented the owner of the winner for one year. William duPont, Jr., one of the builders of the well-appointed Stanton course, presents to the owner of the winner replica of the cup for permanent possession. Heading the smart Oaks field are Belair Studs Hypnotic, who defeated both Howell E. Jacksons Red Shoes and Bonnie Beryl, her Belair Stud stablemate, in the Coaching Club Oaks. Under the conditions of the Delaware Oaks, both Hypnotic and Red Shoes will carry 119 pounds, while Bonnie Beryl will shoulder 118. All carried 121 pounds in the Coaching Club Oaks in which Hypnotic won by two and one -half lengths with Red Shoes earning the place three lengths before Bonnie Beryl. Beaten in Peter Pan Hypnotic, who will be ridden by the sensational youngster, Paul Miller, has started since the Coaching Club Oaks, finishing fifth behind such top-flight three-year-old colts as Mahout, Lord Boswell, Manor Lad and Cable in the mile and an eighth Peter Pan Handicap. Although the expected large mid-week throng probably will divide its support between the Belair Stud entry and Red Shoes, there are several other extremely capable junior misses in the overnight field. In this particular group are J. B. Thealls Dorothy Brown and Christiana Stables Sea Snack. Dorothy Brown last started in the Acorn Stakes, won by the swift William Helis colorbearer, Earshot. Sea Snack, a swift but erratic daughter of Hard Tack — Miss Ferdinand, overcame considerable difficulty to finish a charging second in a mile and 70 yards race over the local course last Thursday. Rounding out the Oaks field are King Ranchs Leavetaking, Mrs. Sidney Zells Chanteuse, Walter M. Jeffords Briarcliff, Cedar Farms Mamanie and Mrs. Robert H. Heighes Proverb.
