Begin Lip Tattooing This Week at Ak-Sar-Ben Track OMAHA, Neb., May 13. — Horses running at Ak-Sar-Ben track this year will be marked with an additional number to assure accurate identification. The latest method of identifying horses — a number tattooed on the under side of the upper lip — will be adopted by Ak-Sar-Ben for the first time. The method is being universally adopted by the major race tracks affiliated with the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of the United States. A special crew representing the Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau will be at Ak-Sar-Ben track this week to offer the new identification service free of charge to horsemen stabled at the track. Only requirement of horsemen is that they show Jockey Club papers on each horse to be tattooed.
