Smith Recommends Jet Pilot Be Declared From Two Races BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 13. — Trainer Tom Smith, of the Maine Chance Farm, stated today that he will suggest to Mrs. Elizabeth Graham to declare Jet Pilot from the Withers and possibly the Belmont Stakes. Smith was of the opinion that two hard races, the Derby and the Preakness, took considerable out of the colt and another hard race such as the Withers would be too great a task. Jet Pilot will be a good colt later in the summer and fall and at present there is no real reason to ruin him.
