COLE— President of the National Association of State Racing Commissioners will call the convention 1 to order this morning. ► ; ; : , State Racing Commissioners Hold Convention in New York Important Items on Agenda At Four-Day Conclave; Two Sessions Scheduled Today NEW YORK, N. Y., May 14.— New York Secretary of State Thomas J. Curran, acting in behalf of Gov. Thomas E. Dewey, will welcome more than 200 delegates to the fifteenth annual convention of the National Association of State Racing Commissioners at the Hotel Commodore on Monday morning. The New York commission, headed by chairman Ashley Trimble Cole, will be host to delegates from the commissions of 25 member states, while representatives from Canada, Cuba, South America, Europe, Australia and the Orient will also attend the four-day conclave. The Association of Official Racing Chemists will also be in session during the convention and a joint meeting of the two organizations will be held Wednesday afternoon. Organizations to Attend Forums Many organizations connected with the inner circles of the sport, including the American Trainers Association, Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, Thoroughbred Racing Associations of the United States, The Jockeys Guild, American Thoroughbred Breeders Association, and the California Thoroughbred Owners and Trainers Association have been invited to join in open forums on racing subjects that will be under discussion. The business of the next three days will be conducted in the mornings. This will give the delegates an opportunity to view the races at Belmont Park or go sightseeing during the afternoons. The New York State Racing Commission, in conjunction with the New York racing associations, have scheduled an entertainment program for the visitors that should provide lingering memories of their visit to this city. Early registrations indicated that about 60 state racing commissioners will be present, but the overall attendance will be close to 200. In addition to the commissioners now active, many ex-commissioners, racing officials and members of other turf organizations will be on hand. The convention will be called to order by chairman Cole at 9:30 a. m. Monday in parlors "B" and "C" on the main ballroom floor of the Commodore. Following the customary welcome addresses, a committee on nominations will be appointed, the treasurers report will be read, as will the reports of the committees on information, finance, uniform rules and procedure and international relations. The election of officers will conclude the morning session.
