Illinois Notes LINCOLN FIELDS - AT - WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., May 14. The stable of Mrs. Ada L. Rice was augmented with the arrival of Richmond Jac, Sizzle and Imperator from the farm at Wheaton, 111. Richmond Jac at one time was regarded as a formidable handicap star. Louis Schlosser, well known Chicago turf patron registered his 10-horse stable. Witch Sir, who defeated Armed in 1946, was a winner during the recent Hot Springs meeting, and is expected to see considerable action here. Bennett Creech, veteran Bloomington, UL, horseman, will campaign on two scenes next week. He has seven horses here and 11. at Churchill Downs. The entire stable will converge here after the Louisville meeting terminates. Jockey Eldon Nelson, who was a prominent figure in Florida racing during the winter, and who injured a toe during the Keeneland meeting, has fully recovered after vacationing at his Ponca City, Okla., home. He is contract rider for the Wool-ford Farm and is expected to see considerable action here. , The veteran official, J. J. Graddy, who will serve as a steward at the Lincoln-at-Washington meeting, will be here Monday. William Resseguet, trainer for various patrons, was an arrival from Churchill Downs with six horses, including the good handicap performer, Jack S. L., owned by Mrs. J. S. Letellier. Upon completion of the Downs meeting, he will add another half dozen horses to the unit. Trainer A. R. Williams was an arrival from Churchill Downs with seven thoroughbreds. Included in the shipment was the Arkansas Derby winner, Cacomo, owned by Ben Endovina and Peter Kontas. Others, owned by Ben Endovina, are Teddy Reigh, For Pomp, Just We Too, Countess In, Outskirts and Porters Miss. C. H. "Frenchy" Pinon, owner and trainer of the Happy Stable, headed by the stakes-winning mare, Happy Issue, was an arrival with his unit from Golden Gate Fields. Others in the entourage were Jessies Beau, Last Drink, Sugar Baby and Undesirable. Gene Pederson, veteran California reins-man, will make his debut on Illinois soil during the season which opens here Monday. He will ride free lance during the meeting.
