Horses to Watch Horses who Impressed Daily Racing Form representatives as being ready to win: LINCOLN FIELDS COMPATRIOT — Was probably best in latest race. Better racing luck should produce brackets in next. TEA DEB — A two-year-old who raced successfully in Florida and could continue to score. BETTER BUY — Has speed and is at peak condition. Fits well with ,000 claiming sprinters. PAPER CLIP — One the cheap side, but usually earns his share of purses. CORYDON — Should show improvement over his races here. A route of ground is wanted. FRANK MUNNS — Is slowly rounding to top form and should tally when sent a route of ground on the grass course here. EQUATE — A fair sort of allowance performer, who has been training in splendid fashion. TRUST FUND — Competes with ,500 claiming company and morning trials indicate he is ready to register at first asking. DIEXTOL— A distance of ground is best suited by this one and, he should turn back a field of cheap claimers. UGLY PRINCE— This sprinter is nearing peak form and should score at this meeting. EXCELSIS — Was rank in his races at Sportsmans Park but, should be better suited for this mile oval. SANGONE — Had difficulty in making the bends at Sportsmans Park, and still gave good account of himself. Is due for another tally. GARDEN IfATE PARK INSULTIN — On the improve and should win a purse before long. ALWHIRL— Turned in an even effort in .debut and improvement may be expected. BEST GO — Races in topnotch claiming company and is due to win before long over a distance of ground. FIRST CITIZEN — This one has a fair turn of speed and when properly placed should • be a factor. BOWPEN — Has some fair efforts over a distance and in own classification should be a factor. ROSIE BERRI— On best efforts this one should be a factor at sprint races. ACE SKIPPER — Last race an even one and and improvement can be anticipated in near future. DRY — A slight drop in class should suit this one over a middle distance. BURGOYNE— Can show to better advantage with continued racing. SUB CHASER — A drop in claiming value should suit this fellow who has a fair turn of speed. HERO — A good one and an advancement to better company can be anticipated. KIDDED — Encountered bad racing luck in last and that race can be disregarded. BLEN RAB— Raced well in debut and should improve with that effort. VOLTAIRE — On the cheap side but may show to better advantage with more racing. WESTMINSTER— This fellow should show improvement when raced over a middle distance. BULLSEL — On the cheap side but capable of winning over a distance. APPPLE RIVER — A slow beginner that may be suited over a longer route. churchilT downs NIC KEY W. — Consistent allowance performer should improve with additional racing POLITICS — Latest efforts have been impressive and this plater should find a field to his liking before close of the meeting. BIG WIG — Hard-hitting campaigner has shown - decided fondness for local strip and should score at next asking. SPRING CHIMES — Speedy sort may forget I to stop next time and is capable of turn ing back more formidable allowance charges here. WARMELIA— This Howard Weils-trained performer appears to have reached top form and an early triumph can be ex-" pected. PRECEDER— Lacked racing room when making stretch bid in Zev Purse. Should make amends at next asking. QUINTERO — Intermediate claiming charge has been working cleverly and is at best on muddy strip. DOMINION — Promising juvenile ran creditably in debut and in all probability will not be long in graduating from the maiden ranks. SYNDICATE — A drop in classification is all that is needed to assure victory for this veteran sprinter. SKY ANN — Only outing here on last weeks program was good enough to warrant victory against similar competition. REIGHS COMET— Closed resolutely to the arrear of capable sprinters in Worth Purse and appears ready for winning effort over a distance of ground. DUDE W.— Dwelt at the start of last race, losing all chance. Should grace winners circle in near future if this fault can be corrected. FOXEY ROSE — Disappointed at short odds the other day and is capable of doing better. SOUTHERN PRIDE — Did not extend himself in most recent start over muddy oval. Tab for future victory. GAY HENRIETTA — Victim of poor racing luck in seasonal debut when impeded during stretch run. HARRY D. -7- Well-conformed youngster appears capable of earning his first set of brackets at next asking. McCOSH — Is always consistently close up and should find a field he can handle before termination of current session. THISTLE DOWN PARK JOINT VENTURE— Swift Arizona-bred son of Three Bars, is one of the fastest three-year-olds on the grounds but was a victim of a poor .start first out here. May never look back next time. ALL FREE — Has been training smartly for his seasons debut. Capable of meeting handicap company, but eligible to several allowance conditioned races that should provide him with an edge. LITTLE BITS — This young gelding is in smart hands, and being prepped for a top effort. Has been sprinting, but will be dropped into a distance race soon. YANKEE CAPTAIN— Slowly coming to his best form. Showed steady improvement his last three outings, and may get to the front next time. SWIMMIN HOLE-Has two sharp efforts to his credit here. Has class over the majority of his rivals and should score the first time entered at six furlongs or over. ANGLE BAR — May have needed his first race here in which he moved to the leaders entering the stretch, only to falter and finish far back. With this effort as a tightener he will be hard to beat. J LEE GREENOCK— This usual front-running one was unable to get away swiftly from his outside post position in his race here, but nevertheless closed gamely in the drive. A swifter beginning should see him in front fromVire to wire. BEL MIER — Jockey was unprepared for start when mechanical difficulties forced the field to be sent away from open stalls and without a bell. She then encountered numerous difficulties and must be expected to do better next time. EAST NORWICH— Had two prep races at six furlongs, and is now ready for one of his best efforts at a longer distance. LOVELY TRACE— Twice a disappointing short-priced favorite here. Must give her another chance. PILOGY — Turned in a game effort to finish behind Radar Man in his lone local outing. A steady performer, and improves greatly over an "off " racing strip. suffouTdowns EVENING ROSE— A fleet miss who will benefit off her lone local start and should defeat a better-than-average band - of sprinters. MISS LENA— Has always been partial to the local racing strip. Last suggested that she is ready for a winning effort against cheap routers. MISS TESS — A sophomore non-winner who gave a good account of herself in recent dash. Should not tarry in the maiden ranks. BEARING CLEAR — Lester Bedwell appears to have this one at peak form and needs only to meet the same caliber as he defeated in lone start here to become a repeater. BAR FLY — Should improve over debut in which he finished an even fourth. Is well regarded by his connections. PITTACUS — Scored impressive victory in last from which he was claimed. Could prove a profitable acquisition. EGRETTA— A stake-winning filly that has been progressing well in her traning moves. Could score at first asking. KING EASTON— A cheap plater who is nearing peak form. Continues to train well in the morning and should locate a field he can handle. ROMANETTE— A recent six furlongs in 1:16% suggests the former handicap miss is ready for a successful seasonal debut. SURRENDER— Has been lengthened out into a fair router. May prove the grass champ at the local oval. RABIES — Last indicated he has attained peak form and should prove a winner against same calibre distance runners. 4 WOLF WHISTLE— May have been short in 1 recent effort. With that race serving as a tightener, this juvenile, colt may score next out. DETROIT STAR REWARD— Sharp race in recent J sprint handicap indicates that the Dix- ,: iana colt will be hard to trim at middle distances. JESSICA B.— Displayed high speed in ini- ; tial start here and is ready to turn back J cheaper grade platers at six furlongs. • MINNESOTA — Maiden two-year-old filly raced well in only local appearance and ■ is due for early graduation. j STATE CHARTER — Shifty juvenile has worked well over the Detroit strip and ** recently stepped three furlongs in :35%, • handily. J SCENE! — Finished strongly in sprint event and should do much better when she is sent over longer route. : BYJA COPO — Trifle short in last engage- * ment and is capable sort when matched i with better-class platers in sprints. • EIREANN — Ordinary plater finished well in recent mile and one-sixteenth race | and will .improve off that effort. CHOCK ABLOCK— Hard-hitting router is ; dangerous sort when meeting ,000 class ; platers. BLACK SAMBO— Eligible to the Lansing Purse and a clever juvenile on any type footing. OLD TOM— Won the Bashford Manor stakes at Churchill Downs in impressive fashion. One of the best youngsters in training. JOHNS JOY— Roughed in the Kentucky Derby but will be dangerous when sent against three-year-olds at local oval. PORTERS BROOM— Partial to the Fair Grounds course and gave game performance in Curtain Up Handicap. MONA— Hard-hitting three-year-old filly was double winner in Kentucky and dangerous if not pitched too high. NEYLAND — Plenty of early speed and may catch a field of middle-class platers he can beat a six furlongs. RODRIGO — Roughed and raced greenly in only local appearance, but should visit winners circle during current meeting. BELMONT PARK DAIQUARI — No reason this good three -year-old colt cant repeat last winning effort. Just galloped to good allowance horses and probably wants a sprint. BILL HOWK— Just missed with ,000 sprinters last time out. Probably wants a little stronger rider and same company. CURTAIN RAISER— This is a good two-year-old colt who showed a high flash of speed in his initial outing. FENELLY— Led all the way in last start and scored an impressive victory over ,000 claimers at a flat mile. Will go well at an even longer distance. FRANKLY — This handicap performer has been working exceedingly well and appears to have regained his form of last summer, A top router. CHESTY— This old boy keeps right on winning with his own kind and will want a sprint.. Tab right back with ,000 company. INSEPARABLE— Beaten favorite last time out, but finished a good second in top allowance company. Probably wants a flat mile or a mile and a sixteenth. ELASTIC — Had a rough trip in last outing. Tab back with ,500 company going a distance of ground. CUP KING— Has been training very well, according to the dockers, and has had the benefit of one good race. INSOLANCE — Clockers claim this is Fitz-simmons best filly and she has never been postward. - GAY DEFENDER— A recent arrival from Kentucky and works have been very impressive. SWEET DREAM— Was a top filly last year and is now rounding to her old self. GREAT ADMIRAL— Another who has never started and is considered to be one of Brookmeade Stables best. SHINE BOY— From the famous Jones boys* barn. A maiden two-year-old who has been working well. MANGOHICK— One of the top sprinters of the recent Florida season and has been training extra well here.
