Daily Racing Form Speed Ratings The handicatpers and statisticians of DAILY RACING FORM have evolved a Speed Ratine system that Is far superior te any yet devised. Instead ef belnc based merely on track records, the ratings are based primarily ea the constant, or mean, speed of the track, allowances that beinc made for variation hi footinf . By this method, when a horse earns a ratine ef, say 85, for a slz-fnrlont race at Belmont Park, he earns the same rating by the same effort at any other track. Speed ratines are shown hi the past; performances after the emhalne price or race classification.
