Harness Bill Passes House SPRINGFIELD, 111., June 14.— The Assembly late yesterday passed a bill permitting harness racing from April 15 through November 15, thereby eliminating the dark period of metropolitan sports from July 16 to August 31. Officials of the state fairs gave their approval to the measure, a plan having been worked out whereby horses would be shipped to the fairs from the metropolitan track when requested. The bill also increased the states "take" from the harness sport from 2 to 5 per cent. The measure had previously passed the Senate.
