CLYTIE found her best stride entering the stretch to take command with a rush inside the last quarter and, after drawing into a long lead, was taken in hand during the final strides. DOROTHY N. LEE was also slow to settle in stride and, while drifting out through the stretch run, made a belated bid. MY DUCHESS was never a great distance back, saved ground much of the way and appeared to stumble inside the final sixteenth while under severe pressure. HESPERID had speed, but raced on the outside throughout and lacked a closing rally. PODIUM tired from her early efforts. RISKING unseated her rider in the post parade and galloped off through the stable area, was captured and brought back to the start, where she showed high speed in the race until reaching the stretch. NEW CHALLENGE was under energetic handling early to gain the lead, saved ground throughout, but had little left when challenged by the top one.
