Turbine, Brownian in Mile Trials for Detroit Stakes FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., June 14. — S. M. Newmeyers Turbine, well-made seven-year-old son of Burning Star and a candidate for the 0,000 Governors Handicap, which is to have its decision here Saturday, visited the good track here this morning and breezed a mile in 1:43%. Trainer James Arthur was completely satisfied with Turbines drill, and his charge is to be under silks in the rich week-end stake, barring a mishap between now and post time. Dr. Eslie Asburys Brownian, fleet homebred daughter of Sickle and Brown Biscuit, who is scheduled to make her next important start in the 5,000 Tulip Handicap, mile and one-sixteenth stake for fil-i * , • • * - . lies and mares, three years old and older, also was out for a mile breeze. Brownian began her drill at the stand and completed her trial in 1:43%, and trainer J. Price Sallee stated that the Asbury star is near-ing peak form. An outstanding performer while engaging top-class company, Brownian has attracted much attention here and she undoubtedly will be one of the choices for the Tulip.
