Ten Entered Overnight For Narragansett Test Dockstader, Khyber Pass and Kandy Comfort Match Strides NARRAGANSETT PARK, Pawtucket, R. I., June 14. — The Elm Grove Purse, six furlongs allowance event, styled for four-year-olds and upward, appears a particularly interesting event for the sport to be offered at this New England course tomorrow. Of the 10 overnight entrants, no single contestant appears outstanding, although three, G. T. Babins Dockstader, Mrs. H. Toffels Khyber Pass and M. T. Homes Kandy Comfort are distinguished with inherent class. Dockstader in four attempts in this sector, since a winter campaign at New Orleans, has failed to display the same zest that placed him as one of the better handicap performers in New England last year. The eight-year-old son of Mr. Bones and Phalaris will be both favored and handicapped in the Elm Grove, favored by meeting lesser company than in his previous attempts and handicapped by a prohibitive high impost of 124 pounds. Although unsuccessful this spring, Dockstader has not been disgraced by any of his efforts and is reported rounding into condition for one of his better performances. Khyber Pass will most likely receive only light consideration, this being his first test since racing the past season in Miami. His best races are usually turned in over a longer distance of ground. A racer of stakes calibre, Khyber Pass may not be completely discounted and will certainly profit from this speed test for his future engagements. Kandy Comfort, swift four-year-old filly, who was a bargain purchase as a youngster, will also be making her seasonal debut tomorrow. Considered one of the better fillies in the country as a two-year-old, the daughter of Andy K. has failed to continue her development but nevertheless raced well enough last year to account for four victories out of her 13 trips to the post. She is reported in razor sharp condition to flash her known speed, and may be difficult to catch under her light weight of 105 pounds, which includes an apprentice allowance. Of the contestants to have shown commendable form recently, J. Gavegnanos Directoire and Hapston Stables Captain Boudour are predominate. The remainder of the field is comprised of Mrs. Janet Becks Reigh Jane, D. Burgess, Jr., and Mrs. E. Trunnells Ike Junior, Marlet Stables Play Tag, Circle K. Farms Gerham and Fantasy Farms Spiteful Sue.
