WAR FUND steadily wore down SCANDAL to open a commanding lead after a half, then was kept under occasional pressure to maintain his advantage to the finish. HILL SUN, far back to the final turn, saved ground in the drive and closed with a rush in the final stages. LITTLE RENNY improved position gradually and finished well. KANKEEKEE raced within striking distance throughout, but lacked an effective rally. RUDDY GLOW weakened when set down for the drive. CHANCE MORN was outrun. FAVORITE TRAP was knocked back at the start and raced outside of horses. SCANDAL quit after a half mile. IN VOGUE, hard ridden to dispose of PILGRIM MAID, was left with a long lead when the latter quit and increased her advantage in the stretch run while winning with something left. GRIAN raced prominently placed while saving ground and could not menace under strong pressure, but easily bested the others. LIBERTY TRITE, away sluggishly, worked her way forward between horses and finished gamely. WALLOON was between horses most of-the distance and failed to respond. PILGRIM MAID could not outsprint the winner and quit. GAY GINO was eased back in the stretch run. OFF AT 3:021 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won .easily; second and third driving. GERTIES LAST, away alertly, was unhurried when unable to stay with POMVENTURE, came through inside the latter entering the stretch to quickly open a long lead and won easily. HI COMEDIENNE saved ground while prominently placed from the start and finished well, but was no match for the winner. MANUELA made up ground gradually on the outside, lugged in badly in the stretch, crossed legs with MY DIVIDEND, then finished well. WISE VICKI made up some ground while saving ground. POMVENTURE flashed early speed, drifted wide into the stretch and quit. MY DIVIDEND raced evenly to the sixteenth pole, where she was bumped and crossed front with hind legs of MANUELA, almost fell and caused the rider to lose both irons. CALL VIOLET was under pressure from the beginning while racing with WISE BRUNETTE, came out slightly in the drive and, responding to strong urging, lasted to best RIP SNORT. The latter worked his way forward from a slow beginning, was sent through on the inside for the final drive and, finishing fast, just failed to get up. SO PROVOKED was steadied behind the leaders to the stretch, moved up boldly on the outside, then hung. WISE BRUNETTE held on well while between horses. CHEVALIER came beyond the middle of the track for the drive and closed willingly in a good effort. DONNA M. G. could not keep up. The others were outrun. SCOTCH CUP was under mild restraint O while closest to the early pace, easily assumed command when urged after a half mile, drew into a commanding Z lead and won in handy fashion. GAINSAY, lightly urged to reach closer contention, was hard urged on the final rn turn and lost ground circling horses into the stretch, then finished willingly. PINK TIGHTS improved position _j gradually on the outside and finished well. PLAYANNA raced evenly without mishap. I FORGOT weakened in the drive. LONA MAE was never dangerous. SUPPER DATE raced within striking distance from the beginning, could not gain on the winner, but easily bested the others. FLYING MILE saved ground while never a menace. VILLAGE BEAU came to the outside to challenge the leaders after a half, was forced wide coming into the stretch, then drifted beyond the middle of the track while winning going away. QUATREFOIL raced prominently under steady handling, saved ground in the drive and held on determinedly. LANGUID LADY was shuffled back rounding the far turn, then came again when finding an opening and finished ♦gamely. TOP SCORE went into a narrow command while still in hand, then faltered when punished in the final run. MIDDLE MAN, blocked behind horses at the half, threatened in the early stretch, but weakened. LUSMORES readily moved forward to challenge the leaders after a half, disposed of CORONET STAR under hard urging, then drifted to the inside while drawing clear. CORONET STAR was sent into a clear lead after five furlongs, saved ground and held on well. KENAYR made up distance gradually on the outside, but could not get up in the drive. REWARD ALL saved ground to make up distance in the final quarter. FANCY FUN closed fast oh the final turn, but failed to carry her speed in the stretch run. RUN LADY quit. ST. GLORY was outrun.
