Bookmaking Bill Beaten SPRINGFIELD, HI., June 14. — A bill, sponsored by Senator Wimbish, to legalize and license bookmakers in Chicago was snowed under in the Senate last night. It received only 15 votes but was kept alive by a motion to postpone consideration. The measure, however, is apparently dead as informed sources state that Gov. Adlai E. Stevenson would veto it if it came before him just as his predecessors did.
