LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 1 UP.— Pitcher Eddie Chandler, 29-year-old right hander, was purchased today by the Los Angeles Angels from the Chicago Cubs for an undisclosed amount of cash. Chandler won nine and lost seven last year with St. Paul of the American Association. He was chosen on the Texas League All-Star team in 1946, 48 and 49 while with the Ft. Worth club.
