PORTENTOUS, a forward factor while in close quarters, slipped between horses on the final turn, was guided to the inside, secured command and was hard ridden to hold ATHLETE safe. The latter woiked his way up on the outside and closed willingly. ORBIT opened a comfortable lead at once, drifted out slightly en the final turn and tired. SILVER REWARD was a stout factor throughout. ETERNAL BOMB moved to the inside entering the stretch, but lacked a rally. URANIUM weakened. HOT TIME hung after nearing contention. BLUE ROW weakened. LITTLE-RICH worked his way up on the outside to overtake the leader turning into the stretch, gained a slight advantage and was under steady pressure to outfinish MR. BEILTRO. The latter, in hand until the far turn, drew clear of the field, saved ground and held on stubbornly through the stretch. IF COMING was unable to make up ground after entering contention. LOU JAY S. closed well G. RAY went evenly. BOLD DAN tarried leaving the gate and was ui;able to reach serious contention. SIR GORHILL quit. MESS BOY tired. DREAM CHAMP showed a dull effort. BILLY BOWLEGS, caught in close quarters nearing the far turn, was taken up sharply, regained stride along the inside to assume command in the stretch and held OLD BURLAP safe. The latter worked his way up on the outside, raced very wide and was drifting out under weak handling at the end. BERTHA ANN moved rapidly along the inside to wrest the lead from KING TWIG, failed to shake off the opposition and weakened. SHADOWS END rallied nearing the end. SHOPPING SPREE was well up throughout and challenged on the final turn, only to falter SENATOR GUY lacked racing rcom along the inside. MARY BONIFACE, kept within striking distance cf the pace, eased out from the inside making the final turn, came between horses in the stretch to gain outside of the leader and closed willingly to outfinish JUST A FOOT. The latter had speed from the start, gained command inside the final furlong and held en stubbornly. PADDY LANE opened a clear lead after a quarter mile, saved ground, but tired. JOHNS CHOICE closed with a delated rush along the inside. DESCENTIVE showed a good effort and should improve off the race. DEBMODE and HERESA DREAM lacked early speed. HERES HUBE showed good early speed, assumed command leaving the backstretch, opened a comfcrtable lead and was eased near the end. DUKES GAL, sluggish in the eatly stages, was forced to take up sharply near the far turn, regained stride and closed willingly. BATED EREATH, shuffled back after a quarter mile, was sent to the outside and closed willingly. EQUIHAZE, a forward factor, was taken back to avoid jamming, rallied mildly, but was not good enough. FLAMING BUSH weakened after forcing the pace. ANDYS GLORY lacked early speed. DEESIDE shewed speed for a half mile. FOUR CHANCES was never prominent racing wide in the late stages. DARK GLASSES, slow to settle into best stride, was sent up fast on the outside to challenge, but was not good enough. COUNT OFF moved in closest attendance of the leader after a half mile, challenged for command, then faltered. CLOUDCHASER went evenly. THE MAID quit. The others were outrun.
