Keefe. who today celebrated the fortieth anniversary of his connection with the New Orleans Times-Picayune, covered his first derby in 1915, the year Regret won "run for the roses." Keefe held open house in his quarters at the Brown Hotel his friends who helped him celebrate long service as a member of the "fourth lestater clan."
