Limit Field of 10 Seeks Alsab Purse Par Boy After His Fifth Win of Current Season In Sportsmans Sprint SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, III.. May !• — The former great racer, Alsab, who brought fame to Chicago while racing in the silks of Mrs. Albert Sabath, will be honored at Sportsmans Park tomorrow. • The feature is named for the colt, who won 25 of his 51 starts in four years of campaigning. It is a seven-furlong affair for | three-year-olds and upward for a purse of i ,500 and a full field of 10 has been entered to represent nine interests. Owner . J. W. Snider, of East St. Louis, 111., has . entered a pair in Blue Agent and S. McLaughlin. Others named are Valley View ; Farms Par Boy, Miss Mabel McCabe Mr. Fox, H. E. Nevins First Security, E. H. Moodys Mr. Dink, Marion VanBergs Miss j , Bobbin, Mrs. H. G. Knotts Fine Fettle, W. H. Bishops Open Way, and J. Woodruffs Kay Gibson. Par Boy, who will carry top weight of • 120 pounds, campaigned in Florida during : the winter and won four of his first seven ! starts. He was twice victorious on the turf course and once in the mud. proving his versatility. Blue Agent and S. McLaughlin , have started at this meeting, both being , : unplaced. Kay Gibson Busy Performer Others to appear here during th» first ] week are Open Way, who was a winner, | and Mr. Dink and Fine Fettle, who were unplaced, and First Security, who finished third. Kay Gibson, an eight-year-old mare, I was one of the most active thoroughbreds ; on the turf last year, starting 35 times and ! winning four races, while Mr. Fox won I two out of seven in Florida, and Miss Bobbin won four out of 25 last year. A pair of speedsters, each of whom won ] three races at the Oaklawn Park meeting, are expected to be among the more popular choices in a five -furlong dash that will serve as the secondary feature. They are i Play Again, owned by Ben Fogelson. and Eye Catcher, from the Woolford Farm. Others include Obstinate Si, from the W. H. Bishop stable; Over Night, from the VanBerg barn, and Welcome, Excelsis, Au- rora Deb, and Tacony. There will be nine races on tomorrows bill and the proceeds of the extra race will j go to the Illinois Chapter of the Arthritis ] and Rheumatism Foundation. One of the * sponsors of the event is Frank Mandel, former member of the Illinois Racing J Board, who is active in the Foundation. *
