| Allie Reynolds Shuts Out Indians as Yanks Win, 1-0 NEW YORK, N. Y., May 17 UP .—Allie Reynolds, though frequently in hot water, bore down in the pinches and relied on some stout defensive support today to pitch the New York Yankees to a 1 to 0 victory over the Cleveland Indians. It was the fourth straight victory for the world champions over the Indians, who were expected to be one of their chief challengers this season. It was the tenth straight triumph in Yankee Stadium where the champs have yet to taste defeat this " season. Although Reynolds gave up nine hits and was in truuole ui i . s _ he had the better of it from the very start. The "Yankees provided him with a big run in the opening inning when Early Wynn yielded two of his three hits. Mickey Mantle walked to start things, but was thrown out at third by center-fielder Larry Doby as Bobby Brown singled. Brown went to second on the throw to third and scored on Joe DiMaggios single.
