PEACELAW attained command along the backstretch, was not rushed when displaced by EPIC CHANCE, then came again to outfinish that one. EPIC CHANCE attained command with a bold rush from the outside, then gave way. DR. DAVID HILL saved ground early, raced" extremely wide through the final quarter mile, finishing right on the outside fence, then came back lame. LADYS QUEEN lacked a rally after being a factor. SAINTE ODETTE raced evenly. FLIGHT NURSE caught tired horses. "EMPTY NOOSE flattened out early. SIR TORO came back a bit lame. BRAZIL showed nothing. The latter drew clear entering the stretch and just failed to last. NETHERBYS rally was too late to. threaten the top pair. TACARO raced along the inside while dueling for the lead, but faltered through the stretch. IKE JUNIOR showed speed along the backstretch and weakened. GNU showed nothing in a poor efftrt. BLUE RHYMER outbroke and out-sprinted the opposition and was kept to pressure while holding CINDA safe. The latter broke slowest of all, moved menacingly to the stretch, then swerved sharply under the whip just inside the three-sixteenths pole. MARENGO, unhurried while CHORALIER held a commanding lead into the stretch, responded to good pressure and, after assuming command, withstood the late rush of WEATHERMAN. The latter dropped back steadily to midway of the turn, moved from the outside, was taken up when DOUBLE NIP moved out in front of him, then lugged in and was forced to rally between horses to be wearing down the winner. CHORALIER set the pace without opposition until the furlong pole, then flattened out badly. DOUBLE NIP dropped back steadily. The others could not keep up. CHUREO dropped far out of contention early, circled the field while rallying and outfinished the opposition. FRATERNAL raced with the pace from the start, attained a slight lead in the early stretch, but was not good enough. WAR DAUBER, within striking distance from the start, was taken up sharply while lacking room between horses nearing the stretch, then closed willingly. COLELCO faltered only slightly after setting the pace. LITTLE ROCKET trailed to the stretch and lacked sufficient racing room along the inside through the stretch. QUICKSET was through early.
