RODGER JOE, sluggish in the early stages, responded quickly when put to a drive, secured room along the inside to overtake the leader inside the final sixteenth and drew out. BLUE ROW improved position gradually, in a good effort. AT EASE, unable to. keep up early, finished well. DOBY broke alertly, assumed command before a quarter mile, drew out when roused, then quit badly. THE-STREET made up ground along the-inside. KHARTOUM had no mishap. GREY BEARD was used up forcing the pace. FAIR REVENUE showed nothing. ROFFIE was never prominent ARKMO quit. SETTOO was outrun. MISTFLOWER came over sharply nearing the first turn, continued to force her way until clear, moved into a short lead leaving the backstretch, but was not good enough. CAPSTONE improved position gradually. BIG ATOM had no mishap. SKEIN, impeded in, the early stages, was along the inside most of the trip and failed to make up ground when clear. CURED quit.
