Blue Rhymer Wins Back Again Purse Filly Adjudged Best at Last Years Yearling Show Lives Up to Reputation at Pimlico By PALMER HEAGERTY Staff Correspondent PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., May 17.— The Back Again Purse, limited to youngsters who competed in last years yearling show in the Maryland Jockey Club Paddock, featured the afternoon sport and the winner, just as she was in the 1950 judging, was Mrs. Henry Hechts Blue Rhymer. The margin of victory was a bit more than a length, with Jouett Shouses Cinda second, six lengths clear of her running companion, Hazel MacCrowes Suze Sin. Blue Rhymer, a flashy daughter of The Rhymer — Blue Brandy, scampered the four and a half furlongs in :53% under Joe Culmone and as second choice to the entry paid .80. In that the five-horse field represented only four interests, there was no show wagering and the place pool was a minus one to the extent of 67.60. The weather was again humid and the attendance was 8,975. The start was immediate but poor, with Blue Rhymer the only member of the field on her toes. She immediately attained a commanding advantage and was not seriously threatened while being kept to strong left-hand whip pressure by Culmone. Cinda Slow to Get Going Cinda, backed down to 1 to 2, largely because of a galloping victory over Blue Rhymer at Laurel, was slowest to get under way. Bobby Mitchell, her rider, tried vainly to get within striking distance of the top one, and it appeared that he wouid as the leader turned into the homelane. Cinda, however, swerved sharply from the whip and lost all chance, bowing by a length and a quarter. For the second time at the meeting, the five and a half furlongs track .record of 1:06% was equaled in the days "sixth race, C.Ewing Tuttles Tenure proving an easy winner in that time. Handled by Nick Shuk, the Occupy three-year-old paid .80 as the prohibitive choice and scored by two and one-half lengths over, J. L. Friedmans Fiddler, who held about the same advantage over Mrs. H. K. Hickeys Trim-ship.
