Illinois Notes | WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., May 17. Sam Roberts, outrider at Sportsmaris j Park, who returned to the saddle With the opening of the current meeting, has made plans to journey to Fairmount Park for the opening of the Collinsville meeting. Roberts will ride free lance at the southwestern Illinois course. In a private transaction, William Hal Bishop sold Petes Best and Kathleen R to Arnold N. Winick. Winick, who recently entered the thoroughbred trainers ranks, is anxiously awaiting the opportunity of saddling his first winner. Fifteen members of the extensive Harry Trotsek unit arrived upon the local scene from Churchill Downs. An additional 20 charges will arrive from the Derby course Sunday. John A. Kinard arrived upon the local scene with the eight thoroughbreds presently under supervision. Comprising the shipment were Johns Joy, Bolo Pat, Johns Pride, Montes Ace, Johns Admiral and. Delta Eagle, all of whom are owned by the Brickeys, Ark., planter, and Woodstone and Convair, the property of Mrs. Ij. B. Kinard. Ed Man, Rarediction, Alana, Grace Mae, Andys Sis, New Light, Dusty Peace and Garys Grey, all of whom are owned by Mrs. Charles Koring, of Evansville, Ind., were given stalls at Washington Park. The L unit, which has been in training at the Dade Park oval, is under the supervision of William Allan Clark. Larry Thompson, conditioner of the main division of the Helen S. Reineman unit, sent 14 horses from Churchill Downs. Included in the contingent was the handicap star, Yellmantown. The remainder of the stable will arrive Sunday. Rosario Conino .reported the arrival of a filly foal by Coastabit, irova. Tapestry, at the J. E. Pelliens Rosedale Farm, situated near Roselle, HI. This is the first progeny of the seven-year-old daughter of Cravat. Apprentice Edward J. Connelly checked in from Louisville -and registered his tack with the custodian of the local riders colony. The promising reinsman is under contract to Dave Womeldorff . Bernard J. Fallon, president of the Washington Park Jockey Club and former member of the Illinois Racing Board, visited the local track yesterday and plans to-witness next Saturdays renewal of the Crete Handicap. *
