Pearson Guides Pomare To Victory at Longchamp PARIS, France, May 19 Reuters .—The American jockey, Billie Pearson, rode G. Courtois Pomare to victory in the Poule Dessai des Pouliches French One Thousand Guineas over eight furlongs at Long-champ yesterday. Pearson had his mount in front nearly all the way to score by a length and a half over Devinette, also owned by Courtois, with Madame Suzy Vol-terras Lovely Princess, a neck farther away in third place. Eugene Constants Thunderhead H., winner of the Newmarket Two Thousand Guineas and joint favorite for the Epsom Derby, was beaten into second place in the Poule Dessai Des Poulains French Two Thousand Guineas over eight furlongs. His conqueror was Baron Guy de Rothschilds Guersant, who, according to trainer Geoffrey Watson, wiil not run at Epsom, but instead will try for the French Derby. He had two lengths to spare at the wire. Francois DuPres Fauberg was third, a length and a half off the runner-up. Eteinne Pollet, trainer of Thunderhead II., said after the race that the colt definitely would run in the Epsom Derby, DuPre said no decision: would be made before tomorrow about Fauborg.
