Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. SANDTOP, far back but saving ground until reaching the stretch turn, remained next to the inner rail for the drive and, responding to strong handling, wore down the leaders in the last seventy yards. LOT-A-BRASS was hustled to the front early, made the pace to the last sixteenth, then gave way to SANDTOP, but continued determinedly to withstand HAPPY GO LUCKY. The latter, reserved while racing* forwardly placed to the stretch, was sent to the middle of the track for the drive and, after racing to LOT-A-BRASS, hung in the last strides. OLD FIDDLE began slowly, but finished : fast. OUR CHALLENGE began fast, raced prominently to the stretch, then weakened. BROWN RAMBLER had j early speed, but failed to stay. SEA RIPPLE, roughed when caught in close quarters at the upper turn, failed ■ to recover. BRIAN BORU was outrun. JET ACE was through early. CORINNE T., in close quarters immediately : after the start, was reserved to the final turn, then was taken out for the stretch run and, after assuming command, drew clear to win with speed in reserve. STARBOROUGH, in hand to the upper turn, reached the lead between calls when settled for the drive, but was unable to hold the top one. OCEAN COMET failed to rally when set down through the stretch. LADY ROWENA had early speed, but tired. TOMMY ALAN could not keep up. ANDY JOE went to the front early, made the pace to the stretch while engaging LADY ROWENA, then gave way. Won driving; second and third the same.v JOAN ANNE K. lacked early foot, but steadily worked forward after the opening quarter mile, responded to urging in the stretch run, disposed of BILLCELLA and won going away. The latter was hustled to the front early, made the pace until reaching the stretch under pressure from ANNS PIGEON, but could not hold the winner. ETERNAL BRIEF lacked early foot, then finished fairly well under urging. TERRY MINE raced prominently to the final eighth, then faltered. BEAU NASH raced on the outside throughout, but could not threaten the leaders. CHANCEOVA tired during the stretch drive. JIMINY CRICKET was through early. ANNS PIGEON quit after engaging BILLCELLA to the stretch. PRO was never prominent.
