Eight-Horse Field Named For Cranwood Main Event Two Drinks Expected to Rule Favorite Off Score Last Out By W. A. CRUSE Staff Correspondent CRANWOOD PARK, Wan ens ville Heights, Ohio, May 19.— Going into the fifteenth day of this 25 -day session racing secretary Fred Burton has arranged an extremely fine nine-race card. In the seventh and customary feature spot is a seven-furlong affair for four-year-olds and older horses and eight rather consistent campaigners are named overnight to vie for a part of the ,000 purse. J. P. Simpsons Two Drinks will be out for a second consecutive victory and will very probably go postward the favorite. The Double Scotch gelding was a length and three-quarters victor over Mrs. E. G. Hullcoats Billy Swing the last time. That race was for the same sort of ,000 and ,750 platers as this, and also at the same distance. Jockey Fred Kratz was his pilot and is tentatively named again. The track was sloppy for his victory, but a fast strip should suit as well. M. M. Dunaways Foxy Boy also earned brackets the last time he went postward. He, too, was ridden by Jockey Fred Kratz but that event had a one and one-sixteenth miles setting and was for those which run with a ,500 tag attached, This field may furnish stronger competition as there are two who will be making debuts at the meeting, Mrs. L. S. Bussy and J. Wises Tidbits and Ai J. Lacostes Sure Gift and each has been racing impressively this year. Others named are W. T. Fugates Montaera which in four outings has been out of the money completely but one time, j. Levins Sun Goddess with two fourths in two efforts, Mrs. J. V. McKenneys Honey Light and N: Corbins Freddie Baum which was ridden by Gardner Darlington as one of his two mounjior.pbselr£jtionin application for an apprentice riders license. Sixth on the card is an allowance test for three-year-olds and older at six furlongs. A rather light field, with but six named, is scheduled to go postward but it will be one of the best contests of the day. J. W. Billottes Bharate will be making her second appearance at the meeting and a return to her effort here in the seventh race on the 14th of May will find her the one to beat. The Sabu mare was a length and one-half on top at the furlong marker in that race only to be headed at the wire by the Dorchester Farms Harvest Time. She appeared a bit short that day but should be .hard to catch with this group, which includes A. P. McCartys Street Singer, the Singin Stables Maripam, H. W. Lehs Dr. Russell, J. Levines Boston Hero and the Bodnar Bros, stables Plumelette. The three distance races are the fourth, eighth and ninth. The former is staged for one and one-sixteenth and the latter is at the mile and one-quarter mile route and is the first meeting at that distance. In the eighth, two-well regarded rivals, the A and H Stables Block to Block and D. B. Jones Music Miss, will vie for the honors. Block to Block has won two races at the meeting hi three starts and Music Miss has made her last two of three starts winning ones. Rounding out the field are G. N. W. Mc-Naughtons Empujori, Mrs. I. B. Fenders Blue Cravat, W. C. Pricketts Pillow and Mrs. T. Brownings Tiffin.
