Kurelik; bred by T. Piatt. WENT TO POST-5:18. OFF .AT 5:18 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. NICTOR was well placed early and, making a positive move after entering, the stretch, found an opening in the final sixteenth to come through, got to the front and won under urging. THE BLUE HEN was never too far removed and saved ground in the stretch to Stage a good finish. FIGHTING DAY was close up early and loomed as the likely winner when he got to the front an eighth out, but had little left for the final drive. MAY FIRST opened a long lead early, but failed to respond when put to the test. The others failed to be serious contestants when it came to an issue and were beaten off. Overweight— Some Town, 2 pounds. Fighting Day claimed by G. Gerber. Attendance, 13,573; Total Mutuel Pool, 71,031.
