CINDA was alertly hustled along while holding a narrow advantage down the backstretch, appeared ready to shake free of RECOVER several times, but remained under extreme hand pressure to maintain her advantage to the finish. RECOVER was sent up to contend for the pace after going a furlong while between horses, was on the inside of CINDA and dropped back slightly on the final turn, then came again under hard urging and finished gamely. An objection lodged by the jockey on RECOVER against CINDA was not allowed. ONE MISS raced along well placed, steadily improved her position and finished well without menacing the top pair. JUBLING broke slowly, ran up on a horses heels at the far turn and then had little chance. VOLTAGE began fast, but could hot keep up after three furlongs. ANCHORS AWEIGH had no mishap. MISS NOSOCA showed nothing. ADAMANTINE faltered. BLUE RHYMER quit early. BLUE CASE reared over and became lodged under the gate, then began well, but dropped back steadily. . RIGHT METAL raced well placed on the inside, drove between horses to open a clear lead entering the stretch, then bore out sharply when urged and bumped GAY GALLANT, was quickly straightened and lasted, then was disqualified and placed second. GAY GALLANT saved ground and rapidly entered contention on the turn, came outside of RIGHT METAL for the stretch drive and, after being bumped by that one coming to the sixteenth pole -and forced wide, just missed. JAPHAP established a commanding lead down the backstretch, but weakened after a mile. TIMEIN was a sharp factor to the stretch, then faltered. CHAGIN, far back, as usual, failed to menace while rallying on the extreme outside. SUNNYMAN failed to respond. FREE PASSES was outrun.
