June 13. — Despite his second to One Count in the Belmont -Stakes, White Oak Stables Blue Man is rated the best of the three-year-olds nominated for the 0,000 Yankee Handicap, racing secretary Eb Pons putting him on top with 126 pounds. The Yankee, richest race of the meeting, will be renewed here on June 17, Bunker Hill Day, over the classic mile and a quarter distance. Blue Man, winner of the Experimental Handicap Number 2, and the Preakness, is rated three pounds above his nearest rival. A. G. Vanderbilfs Cousin, but as that horse is not in hard training, the allotment is purely academic. Master Fiddle, winner of the Wood Memorial, and Charlie McAdam, victor in a Flamingo division, are next in line with 122 apiece. Starmount Stables Primate, on the ailing list, is rated 120, with Cain Hoy Stables Armageddon, third in the Belmont, one under. King Jolie, fourth in the mile and a half "Triple Crown" race, is in with 115, and Fred Hoopers English -bred Olympic has 114. Of the 28 weighted for the Yankee, four are stabled on the grounds and are regarded as definite starters. They are Handsome Teddy, Royal Marvel, Academy Award and Poopcha, all of whom get in with light weight. Handsome Teddy is rigged with 113, Royal Marvel 110, and the other two, 104 and 102. The Yankee had a provision of an extra 5,000 if the "Triple Crown" winner had started, but that was erased early last month when Hill Gail went on the sidelines.
