Flag Request Carries Off Woodlawn Purse Honors Leads Screaming Mimi by Two And Half Lengths at Delaware DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 13. — Attaining winning form for the first time this season, Staley A. Weidmans Flag Request this afternoon accounted for the mile and one-sixteenth Woodlawn Purse, best event on a rather lack-luster program. Blue Stone Farms Screaming Mimi was two and one-half lengths behind the winner, followed by Basil A. Halls Challa Rock. James G. Leiper, Jr.s Blue Jack, the choice with a crowd of approximately 11,000, finished fourth. In last position going by the stands the first time, the Requested filly was steadied along by Augustine Catalano, improved her position willingly when roused and wrested command nearing the stretch. Once on the front end, she had little trouble in holding sway and steadily increased her advantage over the opposition. Blue Jack, however, was not as fortunate. Rated along on the inside early, the favorite lacked sufficient room while apparently full of run on the turn. Apprentice Joe Regal-buto steadily held him until an opening developed, then was unable to get sufficient run from his mount. Surprising and The Slip cut out the pace in this test but were not to be found when the pay line was reached. Screaming Mimi, on the other hand moved from last position in the final quarter mile to wear down Challa Rock.
