" in " t to Here Me -Caucus Top Queers Plate Weyerman Pair Among Nine Sprinters Vying in ,000 Ak-Sar-Ben Main Offering By J. SWEENEY GRANT Staff Correspondent AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 13.— Mrs. Paul Weyermans entry of Here Me and Caucus, both of whom were recently purchased from the Kentuckian, Hal Price Headley, head the list of nine formidable sprinters in tomorrows renewal of the ,000 Ak-Sar-Ben Queens Plate Handicap. Here Me has been assigned top weight of 116 pounds by racing secretary Linus Pierce. His stablemate will answer the bugle under a 105-pound assessment. Slated to oppose the powerful Weyerman duo in the six-furlong dash are: Marion H. VanBergs Countess In, 110; William Fudges My Time, 109; J. M. Fleishmans Mio Ace, 108; A. C. Sipes Charing Light, 106; John H. Nail, Jr.s Three Flights. 105; Delia Shrivers Take All, 103, and J. W. Coopers Undone, 100. Here Me unleashed a convincing stretch drive to take major honors in the recent Governors Handicap here. His performance in that sprint gave every indication that he would prove difficult to down in future races regardless of the distance involved. Thus his impost of 116 pounds seems highly justified. Here Me had only one previous outing in addition to his winning engagement since his arrival from the Blue Grass. In that effort he was beaten rather badly by Royals Last, who will be among the missing in tomorrows race. Royals Last, however, was among the "also-rans in the Governors, in which Here Me got revenge for his previous defeat. Caucus Game Sort Caucus, one of the gamest three-year-old fillies to perform in this sector, was defeated the narrowest of margins in both the Ak-Sar-Ben Memorial and Man o War* Handicaps. In the former, she bowed to Butch K., then came back to finish a scant nose to the rear of Bolingcall in the Man o War. The sophomore miss bore out slightly in her last assignment and had it not been for that fault she most likely would have conquered the highly regarded Bolingcall. The Weyerman tandem undoubtedly will rule the pronounced post time favorite. Hank Manifold probably will be astride Here Me. Sonny Ray Williams the contemplated rider of Caucus. Countess In, showed little in her first start of the meeting in the Governors Handicap. The seven-year-old has the necessary class to cope with tomorrows rivals arid improvement is expected. On occasion, Countess In has beaten the better allowance campaigners in the Windy City area. Mio Ace has scored impressive victories in his last three starts. He was disqualified, however, in his last engagement for carrying Starting Time wide during a heated stretch battle between the two speedsters. Among his victims in his last trip postward was Three Flights, who is given but a slight chance tomorrow. Three Flights has been unable to score here and it probably would be wishful thinking to speculate that he will be able to take the measure of sprinters like the Weyerman entry and Countess In. My Time accounted for the second division of the Inaugural Handicap, but has not been victorious since. My Time is a hard-runner and must always be regarded dangerous should the breaks go her way. John Mack Brooks will have the mount. Charing Light has displayed excellent speed in each of his previous starts and may forget to stop if properly rated. Take All defeated clever allowance sprinters in her latest start. She is being raised a bit classification, but her previous record indicates that she merits the opportunity contest with more capable opponents.
